Coming in March 2021 - Fluga and Auggie's Litter!


We are thrilled to announce that Kross Gola Eldfluga and CH Isneista Bayshore Arnarauga CA TKN CGC are expecting puppies! Their litter will be due in mid-March.


We follow the Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America's breeding guidelines to ensure continued health of our breed. This includes breeding for health and genetic diversity, doing recommended health testing of hips and eyes, and being willing to take back any dog we have bred for any reason throughout their life.

We chose Járnrefur as our official kennel name because it is Icelandic for iron fox, two words that my husband and I feel describe the Icelandic Sheepdog, who is both tough and intelligent. Day to day we call ourselves Iron Fox Icelandics.



Meet our girl, Kross Gola Eldfluga - Fluga to her friends! She is our devoted companion, a fantastic agility teammate, dedicated hiking partner, and an excellent snuggler. She is 14 3/4 inches tall and 23 pounds. Fluga's first litter was with Gunnar of Dancing Aspens Farm. You can see their puppies on the 2018 Litter Page. Fluga's second litter was with Runestone Toblerone Kaffison, co-owned by Jo Ann Secondino and Jo Secondino. You can see the boys on the 2019 Litter page.





At the Kalamazoo Harvest Cluster, Fluga won Best of Winners three times, receiving two majors and nine points toward her championship. We were thrilled to be so blessed at her first show!





We love to take our girl with us wherever we go. Camping, hiking, agility, and cuddling... she does it all! Here are some pictures of life with our precious Fluga.

About us...





We are Ryan and Abby Cook. Our home is in the beautiful state of Michigan. In July 2014, we were blessed to add Fluga to our little family. She was bred by my mother, Colleen, the owner of Kross Gola Icelandics. Watching my mom conserve this special breed and bring joy to other people by breeding healthy, well-socialized puppies made me realize it was something I wanted to do as well. Our next litter is due in March 2021. We have had wonderful experiences with our first two litters, and are looking forward having puppies again!
